Major Medical Association:
Migration of legacy client server applications to the web for a major medical association

The Client
A Major Medical Association.

Challenge
One of the biggest medical organizations in the US was running multiple internal and external client server applications using the Universe database.

The client had several data sources in various different formats. This caused a serious risk of data integrity. The complexity of the manual process involved in consolidating the data from various sources also created serious performance and productivity bottlenecks. The lack of standardized application guidelines for data entry also created major data integrity issues.

The organization chose XYKA over many other competitors mainly for the varied experience of the XYKA team, cost-effectiveness and its strict adherence to delivery schedules.

Solution
XYKA provided the client with an integrated architecture consolidating all the various databases including the legacy database into a single SQL server relational database. XYKA architected a system for real-time two-way replication of the data between Universe and SQL Server databases. XYKA also developed a web based interface for search and entry application for various functions. The standardized interface solved a host of data consistency issues. XYKA's solution helped the client reduce costs and increase productivity significantly.

Technology
Microsoft IIS Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Universe, customized replication-stored procedures, ASP, COM.
